After having spent the first week in Dushanbe with acclimatising and meeting friendly people, I flew to Khorog, the capital of Gorno-Badakhshan in the Pamirs.
There I spent some days in the homestay of Dr. Rajpud and family. He is not originally from the Pamirs, but from Lahore in Pakistan. The former Aga-Khan called him to work in Khorog. Although he is 85 years old now and having spent the last decades as a professor for mathematics in Birmingham, he comes to Khorog during the summer months. I very much enjoyed the interesting talks with him.
