June 13th 2007 Sorry for not posting earlier! I'm in a nice family-run hotel, but the clientele is mostly Vietnamese, and it seems they may not understand that lots of people may need to use the compute.! One guy even scheduled an online teleconference! I managed to get in 35 minutes, but had to ask him how long he'd be, even though I was sitting in the chair right next to him; that was the last time I used it. Today, I'm going on a 1/2 day tour, so got up early to jump online before everyone was up!

I'm in Viet Nam, and will update this country tommorrow. For now, here are some more interesting photos from Cambodia.

Next: Viet Nam

Gecko's in our hotel room (eeek!), gecko's in the beauty salon, gecko's everywhere in Cambodia!

The beginning of the floating village on Tonle Sap lake. Some of the houses were just little thatched huts.

And no village is complete without a police station.

They transport everything up & down the lake. Cut wood, like this, is a good business here!

This house has a corner lot! Actually, both sides of this house are entrances down other narrow waterways, or 'streets.' It's a regular little subdivision!

This one's for the kids! Hey Michael, Dana, Lindsey, Joel, Emily, Joseph, Christian, John John and John, how would you like to go to school on the water?

The water's muddy, but at least there's somewhere to cool off!

OK, bad picture of me, but this is the girl who washed and styled my hair before I left Cambodia. She was a tiny bit mortified that I immediately put it up after she was done! This was taken at the bus stop in front of the salon the next morning. She's wearing what looks like pajamas. Well, they are clearly pajamas, most with cute little characters on them, but someone here is cleverly marketing them as daywear. I see them everywhere, even in Viet Nam. I'm not telling them!

A typical thatched hut on stilts. A lot of the land is swamp, built up to accomodate houses, etc. This house was next door to a rest stop.

These are some big, fat juicy deep-fried spiders! No way can these just taste like chips!

At a rest stop on the way to Phnom Penh. These are typical snacks; apparently they taste like fried chips, mostly nothing inside. I'll take their word for it!

These little pillows, wrapped in some kind of thick leaf, was supposed to have a sweet sticky rice inside. It tasted and looked more like rice mixed with corn starch!

OK, last insect photo - these look like a beetle of some kind.

Monks are a common sight in all of Indochina, and they're very friendly and like to talk to foreigners.

This are tuk tuks, basically small motorcycles pulling a covered cab, with one or two seats. They're really convenient if you have bags to carry. I preferred jumping on the back of a moto. They don't drive very fast, so the ride isn't as bumpy, and relatively safe (not counting the other vehicles on the road), it's one US dollar almost anywhere you want to in Phnom Penh, and you get a much appreciated breeze!

Found on a roadside stand, these are about the size of a good size bird you'd see in a tree. I think it's seeing the head that gets to me!

I passed several casket shops; there are other painted designs, or inticately carved wooden ones. Really beautiful!
