KL to Hanoi

Today started in the transit lounge at KL where we boarded our flight to Hanoi. This was a much better flight and we landed at Hanoi early morning. We passed through immigration and were pleasantly surprised that the bag full of pump and fittings, minus its strap, made it, along with our other bag. Our driver was waiting to take us to Hanoi Amanda Hotel where they gave us an upgrade room with a balcony and let us check in early. After freshening up we went out to get some money, get a SIM for the phone and decided to get an early lunch which we had on the balcony of a nearby restaurant. We looked about for a while but the jet lag and heat got the better of me and we went back to the hotel to nap. Later we went to explore Hanoi. The streets surrounding the lake were closed to vehicles and there was a festival atmosphere. We walked right around the lake and then back to the restaurant for dinner. After dinner we looked at the night market then headed back to prepare for the next leg.
