The flight to Hanoi was about 50 minutes. The Hanoi airport is very modern. Much nicer than many we have seen and very large. The hotel arranged (for a reasonable fee) to have a car pick us up. The airport is a fair way our of town.

The Hanoi Delano Hotel is very nice. It is a boutique type hotel similar to many we have stayed at. Oddly enough we are again in the backpackers district so finding a better restaurant is a bit of a challenge. The room is great and has a window with a view on to a smaller street which seems quiet. Our room is on the 5th floor.

Once we settled in we decided to head out and explore after stopping for the afternoon beer. We are in the old city and the streets are quite confusing because they change names and are not on a grid of any kind.

There are lots of shops much like Ho Chi Minh city. Also, the traffic is just as bad if not worse.

Our walk took us as far as the lake which was very pretty.

We did find a nice little restaurant for dinner and headed back.
