The next morning. Nienke, Matt, Simon, Tommy, Joel and I went to the Ho Chi Minh water park. It was such a fun day! Tommy slipped over fairly early on and cut his head open- which they just stitched there and then! We carried on- he was allowed on some slides still! - and went on some really fun rides. We did one where you were on a triple ring which was terrifying- even the boys screamed but so much fun we went on again straight away! There was also a zip wire into a pool which you ended up doing a flip on because of the speed and huge crowds in the pool watched and cheered when we went- because we were Western! We were there for about 5 hours. When there we saw a bride and groom getting a photo shoot done- so random! When we for back the boys all had work so Nienke and I went to the war remnants museum. It was one of the best museums I've been too but also the most horrific. The photos were so graphic and some of the war stories were really upsetting- people were crying! After the museum we
were exhausted and I went to get some snacks for my first sleeper bus! I said my goodbyes to everyone which was sad and then got my bus, which of course was running late. The journey was ok aside from the fact the driver drove like a maniac! I slept most of the way until a tyre exploded- which woke me up!
Got off the bus about 8am and walked to my hostel (Ihome nha trang). The woman on the desk was lovely and showed me somewhere to nap until the room was ready. I couldn't sleep for ages and fell asleep about 11- the woman decided not to wake me so I checked in late bless her. When I did wake I was still really tired and slept most of the day- I'm sure it's the malaria tablets! I woke about 5 and chatted with a German girl who I went to dinner with. The hostel was pretty quiet so we just chilled in the social area.
Woke up and got chatting to a Geordie girl called Jadine. We decided to go to the mud baths. We got the bus to a resort type place. We had to sit
in mud for about half an hour, dried off with it on then washed it off- leaving very smooth skin. After we had to go to a warm mineral pool for half an hour before having free time in both the hot and cold swimming pools. It was a super relaxing day. When we got back to the hostel we went out to dinner before getting some drinks to have at the hostel. When we got back we played drinking games with some guys in our hostel, James, Jamie, Joe, Joe and Andy (so many j names!) We all went to 'why not bar' before heading to a club on the beach. On the way home we found cheesy chips (in Vietnam!!!) I was very happy haha when we got back people in the hostel were still awake so we chatted until about 5.
The next morning I wasn't too fresh but joe and Jadine persuaded me to go to the beach with them. We hired loungers- it was BOILING so I sat in the shade. Joe and I bought a fruit salad from a woman- it was £4 for 1 whole watermelon, 6 mangoes, 6 bananas and 2 dragon
fruit- such a bargain! We hung out all day before getting dinner. Then in the evening Jadine and I got the bus to Hoi An- 7pm- 8am- long.
When we got off our hostel (sunflower hotel) picked us up. We got chatting to a Scottish girl Iona who was fun. We all showered and sunbathed by the pool (it's a jazzy hostel!) We went to visit some tailors, Hoi An is famous for getting clothes made cheaply. I couldn't decide what I wanted yet though but Jadine got some stuff. Then we went to a cafe and a spa. In the evening we all had some cocktails and met a girl called Beth who joined us. We played some drinking games and more people joined! Iona, Beth and I went out to 'why not bar' where we shares unlimited drinks for 100,000 dong (about £3!) was a good night!
The girls woke me up for free buffet breakfast, and after I went back to bed, Iona came and chilled with me until her bus. In the afternoon we had to go back to the tailors for Jadine and I decided to get a two piece made. After we walked through
the old town to he famous Japenese bridge- underwhelming is an understatement haha but there was lovely markets around it so we looked at them for a while before dinner by the river. Then I FT my dad for his birthday 😊
The next morning we got up for a tour of marble mountain. Our for guide 'turtle' was lovely. He was so friendly and told stories with so many actions and voices it was hilarious. He told us lots about all the different caves, Buddhism and he history of the mountains. He took us to the summit which involved some rock climbing- I'm not sure it's an official route! The view was pretty cool. He took lots of photos for us which was nice. When we got back we were so hot from the day we got straight in the pool! We went back to the tailors (again) to get mine fitted, it was a bit big so we went for lunch in a place called pho xua which was really nice. We had time to kill so wandered round and had ice cream. We picked up my outfit (it fits perfectly!) and went back to get ready. We
had some drinks in our room before meeting up with the four J boys from nha Trang. Jadine didn't feel like going out so I went with them. It was fun!
