Cycling in SE Asia

Hi

I'm looking for some advice on where to go on a weeks self-guided cycling trip in SE Asia. Looking for the following:

- decent cycle (but not too demanding)
- SAFE!
- great scenery and sites to visit
- friendly locals

We're thinking Laos, Cambodia or North West Vietnam.

Any recommendations? My husband and I are looking to head over in December this year.
