An opening to one of the bunkers. They had bunkers for comunication , storage, attending to the wounded, cooking/eating, and sleeping. Of course, the roofs in those days were much better hidden!

My tour agent in Saigon; she showed me where to get good Vietnamese coffee for 5 dong (about $.30 US). The guy sells it out of his mother's kitchen, around the corner from the agency, in an alley. It was really good coffee; I bought a half kilo bag from him.

I bought some oranges from this woman. The rind was a deep green, the flavor was just OK. The Vietnamese really do walk around balancing two containers hanging from a large stick, and they really do wear those hats!

It's so hard for me to believe people aren't hot here! They really take cover from the sun, and you see many people with covers over their face to protect them from all the fumes blowing in their faces. My eyes actually sting when I'm just walking, and a car passes. I don't think there are emissions laws here yet.
