I admit it, Im a pothead
getting our mud on at the mineral spa.. Nha Trang has a lot to offer these adventure junkies. Yesterday we went mud slinging at the mineral Spa. We sat in these tiny tubs and they pumped warm mud into it. We then sat in grimy muck - oh wait exfoliating mineral mud - for 20 minutes and then went through a series of mineral baths. It was really neat and a lot of fun. Im not sure if I would do it again but it was for sure a different experience!
Today we went on a boat tour to 4 islands. It was for sure the highlight of Na Trang, well, so far. There was only one thing that put a damper on the trip. We thought when we went out towards to sea there would be less garbage floating around in the water (we've been having issues with this). At least at the snorkel spots. This was not the case. I mean I can handle a few plastic bags floating around, but right before we jumped in we saw a needle and syringe float by on a piece of wood. My friends, this is disturbing. I was turned right off and proceeded to set my mask aside
Soup anyone?
At the silk factory...boiling silk worms..mmmmm for another day. These people need to do something before Vietnam turns into nothing more that a garbage dump. Its so beautiful here...why don't they take care of it?????
Aside from that the day was super fun. We had a live band on board - the staff. They were really good musicians and had everyone dancing up a storm in no time. After the concert we proceeded to the "floating bar", which was everyone drinking local wine floating together in livesavers (no garbage in this area). It was really fun. The trip finished off with a big volleyball game with some fellow Quebec mates. What? Who won? Lets just say the french side of Canada didn't prevail. We schooled those frenchies😊 Awesome people, awesome time. We had 2 dives scheduled for today, but thanks to the typhoon making its way to Hong Kong (anyone see a pattern here?...cyclones, typhoons), the visibality isn't very good (5 meters at best). So tonight we head to Hoi Ann to get some clothes made. There are 200 tailors in the city and they make everything from clothes to bags to shoes. This could be very damaging to my credit card balance 😊
Its hard to believe we only have 3 more stops before we venture into a another country - Laos. Then after a few weeks there I will be going through beach withdrawl and will be bolting to the nearest beach in Thailand. Hopefully we will be able to get some diving on the go there. This bad scuba luck can't last forever can it?
Peace
