Spent 3 days in Mui Ne, a seriously chilled out tiny beach town (there's hardly a town here really, just a single road) a few hours north of Saigon. No traffic, hardly any cars and just 22km of sandy beach - perfect!
It's really windy so it's a haven for kite surfers and windsurfers, which means the sea isn't great for swimming, but we were literally just doing nothing - staying in cute little wooden bungalows right on the beach, and rolling out of bed to sit on deck chairs on the beach, drink fruit shakes, watch the amazing kite surfers and by night, eat seafood and drink cocktails - bliss! Didn't realise how exhausted I was from travelling as have been constantly on the go for at least the last month and desperately needed a rest (such a heart-wrenching sob story, I know!), so was great.
There were amazing sand dunes to see there, but to be honest, Alex and I just couldn't be bothered to move from our horizontal positions! The beach is nice, although the sea isn't quite the turquoise paradise I was hoping, and there are lots of jellyfish washed up on the beach which
doesn't make me want to swim! But Mui Ne is a very low key, quiet place and leaving today feeling thoroughly rested...
