touts defined=to solicit business, employment, votes, or the like, importunately.

i rented a motorcycle for what i thought would be a peaceful ride. instead i was chased down by a woman tout on her own motorcycle. she wanted to sell me a rowboat ride.

then a second woman on a bicycle chased me while i drove down a levee, for the same.

finally, as i walked through a market two women grabbed me and would not let go! wanted to sell me some kind of clothing i think?
