Christmas is not a big event in Vietnam and Hanoi in particular, but it’s getting more attention nowadays, especially from the young people. This year a grotto is set up at the rear of the cathedral. On 20 Dec, when I was there, a man was standing on the rocks and building them with mortar, while others were discussing how to decorate the grotto.

A little girl was passing by me and she wore like Santa.
