We have had quite the adventures over the last few days....after Sa Pa we returned back to Hanoi for one night before leaving for our organized boat tour of Halong Bay. Halong Bay

This is one of the floating villages. There are 500 people total in this village. The government pays them for every kilo of trash in special collection buoys to keep the water clean. Way to go Uncle Ho!

Supermarket Boats

Steve jumped off the top deck for a pack of oreos...there is a serious chocolate shortage in Vietnam so we seize any chance we can get to stuff our faces :-)

Halong Bay

Floating village life... There is a floating school too, where all of the kids row in for the day.

We've stopped worrying about germs.

Considering vegetarianism

We think Vanessa is onto something. Walking around with dried squid juice between your toes all afternoon is really gross. And fragrant.

Hoi An Market

Dried squid is definitely an acquired taste, albeit not one to be acquired within a one week stay.
