Big Bay with lots of Big Mountains

Ahh, 6am wake up call. Drag myself out of bed. Clamber on to the bus. Promptly fall asleep whilst trying not to drool on the poor guy next to me. On my way to Halong Bay. yea.
It's a pretty good deal for 17 bucks they take you out there, put you on a boat,feed you and put a roof over your head. The day we arrived was fairly misty which gave it a eery type of feel but on the other hand you could not really see too much. Went inside this incredible cave, massive. Got friendly with this young dutch man and lovely belgian lady. Such nice and fun people, I hope to see them once I am living in the UK. Once we got to the island of Cat Ba we rented motor bikes and cruised around the island. Such an amazing island. Big rock outcrops and swampy rice padies. Had to drive back in the dark which was a bit of a challenge, especially on those roads.
Went out that night, ja not a whole lot happening at all and the stupid DJ would not play Insomnia by Faithless for me. oh well.
Halong Bay itself is quite incredible with over 300 small mountains strewn throughout the water. It's incredible how some of the people live right on the water. Finished the Life of Pi eventually. I started it 3 months ago and then put it down, then restarted. good book. It does not matter which story you believe so long as you BELIEVE! yip, that's what i got from it.
In Nanning, China as I write this. Amazing. it's beyond words, this country is just booming. As the Norwegian, Christian that i spent some time with said, 'it feels as if we are in the middle of a big building site' very true
