Hi All

We took a two day Sailing trip on Halong Bay through our Hotel, Viet Anh on the Santa Maria. Minibus through rural / industrial countryside between Hanoi and Halong Bay. I noticed there is a lot of rice fields being filled in for industrial plants. Halong City is about to really turn into a big resort area. Stopped at a ceramics village that supports handicapped people making some very nice things. Transferred to boat at Lunchtime then motored out into bay. Lunch was a 6 course banquet, pulled up at a big cave called Surprise cave, not sure local name. Went through the cave, it was huge with many beautiful formations. Back on baot to another smaller cave, magic cave, Very pretty. Back on boat for drinks and dinner, another 6 courses. Had a great crew of people on boat, the kids played with some other kids on the boat.

Next day we went kayaking around some beautiful islands and through some spectacular tunnels. Elise said Gemma paddled well ! Back on boat for another 6 course banquet then motored back to the dock.

A great two days.

Bye for now
