Hue Citadel and the Vietnamese Flag
Hue was the political capital of Vietnam between 1802 and 1945. Today is is a Unsesco World Heritage site, with the main attractions being the tombs of the Nguyen emperors and the remains of its citadel.

I did not spend much time in Hue but just enough to make a tour of the city and visit its famous sites.

I am now in Hoi An, a couple of hundred kilometers south of Hue. Hoi An is a charming little town, quiet and cozy. It was an international trading port in the 17th century. Chinese, Japanese and European cultures show their influence on the local architecture.

Many, many shops offer tailor-made clothing at a very good price.

Was planning a trip to the beach these days but it's been raining :-((

Tomorrow, I am leaving for Saigon/Ho Chi Minh city and the Mekong Delta.

til later, corinne

The emperors built their tombs outside of town and some are magnificent. This one is built on the hill side and is a mix of architecture, with some materials imported from Europe.
