The inland, mountainous town of Dalat has many attractions and we saw the lot of them pretty much in one day. Dalat is one of the only towns in Vietnam which entirely escaped bombing during the war and so you get a real feel for the French influenced Vietnam from pre-1945.

We must've walked miles and miles up and down the streets of this town in one day. We saw the markets (huge), the Crazy House (which would be a perfect venue to hire out for a party as it was also a hotel), the Cathedral, the post office, the Sofitel for a beer and complimentary cookies, the old railway station complete with old chinese steam engine, a cable car ride out of town across the mountains to the reservoir and picnic spots (more for the views than anything else) which reminded Ria of Sweden, and had a few coffees and local delicacies. It was a really nice place to visit and I would probably go back again to see the surrounding country.
