Based on some of the testimonials I have watched, survivors of the Armenian genocide talk about their experience. I agree with what Hagop Assadourian said about Turkey still denying about the killing the Armenians. I feel disgusted that they would not admit to it because there are many survivors who would talk about it, and we the people have seen enough evidence to prove that the Turks were guilty. The Armenian genocide will continue to haunt the Armenians, and they need all the help they can get to get back on their feet. Many do not want to talk about it because it will bring pain to them. They say that they do not want to talk about the genocide because it will remind them about how graphical the tragedy was when they saw killings of their friends and families. Like in Annie Smith's story, Annie, her brother, and her sister were separated when the war was starting. The sister was forced to get tattoos and she had to convince the brother that they were siblings. This is heartbreaking because the whole idea of separating families to kill them is cold-blooded of the Young Turks. I love my family, so being separated from them, would hurt me the most. A survivor, Pamela Douglas, had a grandfather who survived the Armenian Genocide. He recorded the son, or her father, of him recounting the horrors of his experience. Connecting to me, this is the worse experience because horrors will haunt people forever. I feel that Genocides should never occur again and that this will educate people about History, so that we will prevent these mistakes again.
