Bangkok and onwards

Hi all,

NEWSFLASH: this isn't strickly about our travels, but it's the best medium to let everyone know that our daughter Claire and her husband Guy had a baby girl on 23rd December. Mother and baby doing well. Claire's dad and his wife Frances are in Brooklyn now so they are in good hands.

This is also to let you know that we are currently in Bangkok, but just about to travel north to Chang Mai overnight on a train, so that should be quite an experience.

We had a lovely family time in Perth - thanks Pete and Eve.

I am having difficulty getting into our hotmail from this computer as it is in Thai and I can't find any English translation, so to those that have contacted us via hotmail, apologies for no reply as yet. When we get to Chang Mai we'll try again, but we're on the move for the next 5 days with our group, so you tend to have to go with the flow a bit.

On the subject of our group I'm very pleased to report that they are all very nice. There are 12 of us - six boys and six girls, from England, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It's a bit like an episode of Big Brother sometimes, except that we're all getting on well.
