Day 290 to Day 321 (03.10.07 - 03.11.07) Crossing the border from Malaysia by bus was a 12 hour yet stress-free expedition, the Thai-Malay border is one with relatively few problems of all the borders in S.E.A. after a day of trekking, we got involved making a delicious feast for dinner, helping the guides and locals in the little stilt-hut kitchen

actually they have us the good beds with the mossy nets.....but lets just say it wasn't the best nights sleep we've ever had! worth it for the experience though

during our time hill trekking in the Chiang Mai hills, we got around the way the locals do, on foot, on elephant and on raft!!

another form of local transportation - build a bamboo raft and wade with the current down the river, a lot of fun and hard work (for the boys!)

Linda looking good in traditional dress!! in the hot and humid Thai midday heat, we had to cover up and put on these formal clothes!!

On the little street where we stayed in Karon Beach, Phuket, there were a few swede's around to make Christian's family feel at home, and this was the best restaurant around!!

high up on the back of this 30year old female elephant we didn't feel totally safe...the path through the jungle was narrow and rocky but somehow the dainty footed elephant walked us through!

almost devastated by the 2004 tsunami, Phi Phi island is making its way back to being an island with all the facilities tourists want, for now signs like this out the evacuation routes all over the island.

an old local man took us for a 3hr boat expedition to visit the famous "beach" despite the terrential rain and high waves...it was lovely!!

despite the tsunami devastating much of this beach, its still picture perfect and paradise-like!!

a multi-megastore shopping mall in the middle of Bangkok....this place has everything you can possibly want and more...

inside this maze of a shopping mall, its impossible to find the exit...the escalators are designed to confuse..

drinking in a backstreet bar with our Irish friends who we met in Chile...the reunion was inspried by the boys desire to play Pro-Evolution soccer in which Sweden-Ireland went head-to-head in the world cup, Ireland didn't have the success that they were hoping for...it was great to see these two!

Hi Kate and Christian, We can't believe its almost time for you to return home, its passed so quickly. We are looking forward to seeing you though.
