The lookout over all of Railey...what a view
A few more midterms out of the way and finally my Mom and Sister are here. They arrived late on Saturday and we spent the next few days doing the Singapore classics (while I still had classes) and then headed for a beach holiday. The original plan was to go to Paulo Tioman in Malaysia because it’s so close and conveniently located to Singapore...but it turns out that the week we chose to go away was also Malaysian Spring Break and all the resorts were packed. So instead, we decided to grab some last minute flights to Krabi Province in Thailand. Once there our options were basically Railey Beach again or Koh Lanta. We ended up in Railey cause we had been there before and would be easier to get to (we were on a pretty tight schedule). I know these pictures must be getting old seeing as this will be my third set from Railey but this time I have captured a few new faces of Railey. 1. A actual resort...pool, air conditioning, all you can eat breakfast, the works. Traveling with the family on vacation was a nice change from the budget backpacker rooms I normally go for.

2. Some newly met friends and I hiked the outermost rock face dividing Railey East and Phra Nang Beach in search of the fairly unexplored Lagoon. The trek turned into more of a scramble up shear cliffs (probably the best part) but was totally worth it. On our way we found a lookout over all of Railey (see pictures...there’s some nice Thailand panoramics of the area). After an hour or so we finally found the lagoon, but it turns out that it is only filled with water in wet season and at high tide...neither of which were occurring when we were there. The result was an almost completely dried up lagoon...still cool...but none of us were about to take a refreshing dive into the mud/clay. Overall the vacation was a nice break from everything, and it was amazing to see my family. Like I said, a lot of these pictures might be getting repetitive but I figured I would post them anyways. Enjoy!

Steve
