So I've landed in Thailand and all seems well. It's just like the last time I was here: hot, noisy and full of tourists. Good food though

I arrived in Bangkok and stayed for four nights. In that time I ate loads, tried to battle jet lag and looked at many temples and Buddahs. All much fun. Then it was down to Pattaya, the whore capital of the world if I'm any judge. Millions of bars with girls, boys and ladyboys all entising you in with the scream of 'welcuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum'. Maybe later.

The food in Pataya is geared to western tourists with no tastebuds. The bars are geared to western tourists with no taste. It's full of middle-aged men with a Thai girl by his side. It's somewhat disconcerting to be a part of this 'normal' behavour. You feel a little left out if you don't want to shag a prostitute. The reason for Pattaya exsisting IS the sex industry. And I'm spending six months here learning to dive. They probably have other ideas for the use of a snorkel and the term diving...
