Picture postcard from the 'beach' beach
Following the last entry we went on a boat trip in which we visited Ko Phi Phi where we saw the beach (from the movie the beach) which was beautiful yet utterly overcrowded and somewhat frustrating. We then took a wizz round the islands on our speed boat, had lunch on a lush beach before being taken to another beach to chill and snorkel for a couple of hours. The day was fun but perhaps a little depressing to see what mass tourism does to a place, and by this time we were both becoming extremely frustrated with the money grabbing mentality of the islands and Bangkok so far.

The next day was pure travelling, mini bus, plane, taxi and bus to Kanchanburi where we spend yesterday having a mjor adventure on another moped. We began by driving about an hour out towards the Burma border where it is all hilly and pretty. We went searching for a damn cave, yet never found it and had to face a mammoth hill in search of tiger temple on which sam had to hop off the moped and walk for us to get up it. Upon reaching the top of this damn

hill we thought it somewhat funny to see a sign for monkeys on the road only to get round the corner and find a whole group on monkeys blocking the way. We eventually made it to Tiger temple and had a lovely couple of hours touching the tigers and seeing the cubs. We got loads of great photos and was definately worth doing. Following this we set off home towards the Kanchanburi war cemetary, it was very quiet and kept in a beuatiful state and was definately a worthwhile place to visit, we layed some flowers and headed off to the Jeath war museum, which while only small gave a good insight into the lives of some of the people in the POW camp in the area. In the evening we ate at the market stalls which were selling all kinds of wierd foods, with Marks meal he was glad to be given a free bag of warm water with what looked like an eyeball inside, it stayed in the bag followed by the bin... We then took off to the night market in the area which was filled with all sorts, from peoples old clothes, to computers and to

Sams distress even puppies which looked no older than a couple of weeks in small cages. On the plus side she did find a number of stalls selling her fave makeup for next to nothing.

Today we are having a leisurely morning before hopping on another bus back to Bangkok and then from there a night bus to take us up to Chaing Mai, which is meant to be at least a little cooler...we hope.

We will message again with our travels in a few days, hope all is well back home.
