Well, Ash is almost done here... She comes home on Monday... So we needed to get our tiger stuff out of the way, obviously... I know she already got her pic taken with one tiger on Samui, but today we went to a whole TEMPLE FULL of them! It was awesome!
We paid 600 baht to go from Khao San Road to the Floating market where we took a high speed longtail boat around, then we stopped for lunch at this roadside cafe thingy (where I proceeded to only eat sweet and sour chicken and rice cause it was included in our 600b) then we went to the bridge over the river Kwai and the war museum, then from there we went to the tiger temple.
We had to be on Khao san at 7am this morning, so of course I set my alarm wrong, so we were a tich behind... only so that we couldn't have our fave breakfast in bangkok... so we grabbed a tuk tuk and hit up khao san. We got picked up shortly after and then of course you have to go around picking everybody else up. No big deal, we were on our
way within 30 minutes.
First stop was the floating market... It was interesting, to say the least. When you get in the highspeed longtail (they call it a James Bond boat... don't know why... something about it was in one of the movies?? I dunno... Haven't seen em...), they take your picture... I knew that it had to be for some sort of memory paraphanelia, so I smiled my cutest smile ever. Ashley didn't have a clue what was going on, and just looked... It's another wipe that face off your face... when we got off, we had the option of buying a commemerative plate with our faces on it. Ash bought one for 150 b. I declined. haha
After hanging around the floating market for an hour and a half, we hit the road in our minibus and went for lunch. Met a really nice Irish guy who's name I can't remember... and we hung out for the most of the day with him.
After lunch we went to the bridge... It was really sad to be honest with you... Lots of people died. We took a bunch of pictures. Ash took more than I did...
I wasn't so impressed... although I did light an incense in memory of the fallen soldiers. We took the train across the bridge... we were being lazy... hear that toni? We took a TRAIN! Then we got back in the bus and ash started getting REALLY excited... not saying that I wasn't, cause Tigers are cool man... but she was STOKED!
We got to the temple about an hour later... And we were told to walk this way and that and then we'd see the canyon where the tigers and the volunteers and the monks were.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Ok, so I'm no tiger buff like Ashley, but lemme tell ya, I was impressed. It was really really neat. I got to touch SEVERAL tigers. They take you by the hand (like, holding hands with a lover sorta deal) and they lead you around while someone else follows with your camera. It's so neat. I'll post some pics of both of us. Unfortunately you can't get pictures of two of you together... but that's alright. Who wants ashley in their pictures anyways? Just kidding ash... me ruv me ruv... 😊
After that you can
go to the cages and see them in there. There were these two babies... aw, they were so cute!! I like the cats. They're beautiful.
After that it was time for home.
So here I am, telling you guys bout my awesome day. It was pretty good. I'm not gonna lie.
Ash and I stay at this hotel tonight then we head over to a hotel at the airport which we haven't even booked yet. But ash is springin for somethin real nice... so hopefully they'll have something for us.
Other than that... the first leg of the trip is over... Ash is almost on her way home and Dee is almost on her way here... with my many many canadian things that I miss so much... such as cigarettes and shampoo...
Ok... miss you all so so muchly. I'll talk to you again soon!
Me ruv me ruv
