clothes
how they can be so bundled up in the heat is beyond me, but they all wear clothing as if it was a nice spring day This morning at 7:30 we hopped in a van to get going. We were lucky and were first because it was the guy's company, so we chose the front seats in the back where there was more room. We went around picking everyone else up (there were 11 of us in total) and then at 8 were at the office of Krabi Morakod, the name of the company. There he told us we would wait for 10 minutes.
What happened was that 10 minutes later, he tried to switch us to another van. We took out our bags and walked across the street to where the van was parked only to find that it was full of people and bags. So we went right back to our same van, reloaded our bags, and got back in. What a mess.
At 10 we arrived at another stopping point to change vans only to find, surprise surprise, that it was also full of people. They seemed to have a counting problem and it was a big surprise to everyone who worked there..."You have two people? Not one?" Anyways, the guy had to call for another van to come pick us up.

from the beach...they litter the whole thing! This new van was a little bit more trashy and we rode the whole way with the windows open (no AC) but with a ton of space because there were only two other people riding along with us.
As a side note I'd like to mention how I have been cursed with the sunny side on almost every bus/taxi/van/mode of transportation we have taken. It doesn't matter if it's the left or right, but wherever I am, the sun is too. This time I got a little lucky and was not plagued by the sun for the whole time, only for the majority.
At 11:40ish we arrived at Satun, took our bags out of the van, and were told to go to the second tour office. We went there and waited until someone came and asked how long we had until we needed to leave. She told us 30 minutes so we ran to the nearest restaurant, wolfed down some food, and hurried back only to be told that we actually had until 14:00! We were not too pleased by this information, but sat around and waited until 13:30 when we were walked over to the dock.
The boat, instead of leaving at 14:00, left at 15:00. It only took about 30 minutes to get to Koh Tarutao and when we walked up we paid for our tickets to enter and searched out a place for our tent and hammock.
It was too late in the day for it to be worth the money to rent bikes, so we decided to leave that until tomorrow and just hang out in our tent and swim around in the ocean. The water was really nice but the sand is squeaky.
