This is it, my final Thai blog (this time around).
The past week has been a whirlwind; finishing up school, packing and organizing, saying goodbyes. It has been an enormous task to go through all of the stuff I've accumulated and decide if I sell it, give it away, keep it, or trash it. Most of it is being left behind with my roommate, and the rest is going to friends or neighbors. But I feel a sense of closure, I'm at peace with moving on. There are no regrets, no tears, just happy memories to carry with me always.
The one major thing I will be selling is my computer. This concept seems to absolutely blow people's minds; how could it be humanly possible to live without internet access? I will have no smart phone, tablet, laptop, nor any other device with wifi and/or gps capabilities. Does snail mail even still exist? What is a map? Funny how only a few decades (or in some cases only a few years) can make us so spoiled. As you may recall, my previous 7 month journey was also technology-deprived, save for my camera and ipod. Oh, and of course my
trusty, indestructible nokia bar phone, for contacting couchsurfers and travel buddies. It can be done again!
Without the constant distraction of checking my facebook newsfeed, I will have so much more time to enjoy the places I am in and to be wholly present. I will also be able to partake in such ancient past times as reading and talking, which you may have heard about in your history class. They are actually quite pleasant, and I would recommend giving both activities a try.
Besides my communication downgrade, I am also taking on the daunting challenge of traveling on an insanely small budget. For reasons best left unsaid, I am much shorter on savings than I should presently be. These funds will be reimbursed one day, but not within the allotted travel time frame, as it stands. Nevertheless, the adventure must go on! I have been putting off Europe for the right moment, and that time has come; the window of opportunity is open. So with no more than $5000 to my name, I embark on the journey to Nepal and then Europe, with no fixed end date (but a goal of December). Thus, the game is to stretch the money as far as possible, without denying myself a proper European experience. Couchsurfing and bread and cheese dinners it will be 😊 Wish me luck.
All that being said, I will try to keep you updated with blogs and pictures when possible. My internet access will vary from place to place, so just be patient. You will hear all the exciting stories in due time. Thank you for following me here and on facebook, thank you for keeping in touch when I'm so far away, and thank you for supporting me in my offbeat lifestyle. All my love xxx

Good luck on your travels to Nepal and Europe...
Reading and talking has much to be commended. But I look forward to reading your blogs when you find an internet café.
