James bond Island
Try and spot it in The Man with the Golden Gun :) Hi all, my last blog finished with me saying we were going out for a few drinks in patong beach...well we did..as the title of this blog suggests we did stumble across a well known 'show' (i dont know if thats the right word) im not going to go into detail because my mum reads this, but needless to say it involved some talented (not sure if thats the right word either) ladies and some objects including ping pong balls, it was certaintly an eye opener to say the least.
Right anyway..the rest of the night was good , the usual stuff, had something to eat, had a couple of drinks, Nat gets chatted up by a lady boy (this is becoming a regular occurance for some reason.lol), we ended the night with a pizza (no parmos here, could have done with one too 😊) and then found our way back to the hotel, woke the night porter up, got our key and headed for bed....where we stayed for the whole of the next day! getting up breifly for breakfast and then eventually dragging ourselves out at 2ish to head for mcdonalds (we hadnt had one yet, we were
doing well!) but we were really suffering and just needed a mcchicken sandwich, chips and large coke, oh yeh and ice cream 😊. We finally recovered on thursday morning, we just cant take these late nights anymore, im sure the pizza must have been dodgy!!
Oh yes and another thing about that night, this really annoyed me at the time.... theres me walking down the street in the middle of thailand in my favourite topshop dress (the little stripey one, which i have to add is about 3 years old but i love it) and what do i spot on the other side of the road...someone in MY dress!! in the middle of thailand!! i was less than happy and had to walk quickly to get out of sight of the other little stripey dress, as if! and its not even a new design! i was less than pleased (i did look better in it though, so that made it ok,lol) 😊
Thursday was spent topping up our tans on patong beach, very busy beach completely different to the previous ones we've been on, but the suns still the same 😊. We went shopping on the night and
A Mangrove tree
We ended up going under part of one of those roots!! very tight squeeze found a gorgeous water fountain and lights show, which we watched, to make it even better we heard our first christmas songs! you appreciate them so much more when they are not in every shop, mariah careys 'all i want for christmas... is you..' never sounded so good 😊. Gave me a christmassy feeling in my tummy.
We've been very touristy this week, not very backpackerish, but thats the sort of place it is, i guess we are seeing all sides of thailand, to be even more touristy we went on a boat trip today. we saw lots of little islands that surround phuket, we even saw a famous island (bit of movie trivia coming up) we went to 'james bond island' as featured in- The Man with the Golden Gun. (so i will have to watch that when i get back and say 'i've been there')
We went sea canoeing through tiny caves where you had to lie down to get through, good job me and Nat had Sam the canoe man, because otherwise we'd still be there! when you got through the cave you went into gorgeous lagoons, with mangroove trees, twinkling water and lush greenery, we even saw a real life monkey, just sat happily in a tree 😊.
we had a buffett on board too which was nice (a peter kay buffett- rice, chicken.fish-rice,chicken.fish,rice,chicken.fish) but it was all lovely.
So that brings me to now and we've just packed ready for Krabi tomorrow, (cant believe christmas is so soon.). Going to go for something to eat now (think i'll have a fried rice with chicken for a change. 😊) and then sleep ready for tomorrow, so next time i blog it will be in our christmas destination, speak to you all soon x x x x x x
