Steve in hut
This is the bungalow we stayed in for most of our time, a simple bungalow but it had a little bathroom and enough mozzies for everyone to share Today we leave Koh Tao to head to the mainland to continue our journey north to Kanchanaburi. We have had such a wonderful time here and the locals (the Scuba J clan!) have really made us welcome. After Steve finished his Open Water Diving Course, he was all gung-ho to continue to do the Advanced Diver course. Well, the next thing I knew was I was all geared up ready to the two day course with him!! We are now both qualified Advanced Specialty SSI divers 😉 He course was great fun and of course Nat, our instructor, made it even more enjoyable for us. The options we took were the Deep Dive (26m), Peak Performance Buoyancy, Navigation, Night Dive and my favourite - FISH ID. In the latter we had to go down to 10m or so and Identify 5 corals and 5 fish. Some of the fish we saw included red breasted wrasse, the blue ringed angel fish (my fave), parrot fish, rainbow fish (steve's fave), and puffer fish. On the night dive we saw a couple of sting-rays, but luckily not anything bigger!
A lot of our time here has been taken up with diving, so hence
Steve looking brown
Not a bad picture of me (i'm not usually very photogenic) looking very brown and tucking into some great Thai food not a lot of blog updates - sorry. However, we will endeavour to update it more regularly from now on! We're very sad to leave Koh Tao, and really hope we get the chance to get back there agian soon.
