I have been loving the diving thing, (as you may be able to tell) If it’s not snowboarding then it has to be diving, I have gotten my advanced diver certification and can now go up to 30 Meters underwater, that's actually a real far way. I passed all the exercises without any problems, so we got to explore around a lot, I finally saw a huge sea-turtle today, and a cool looking eel, on top of hundreds of fish I couldn't even begin to identify. Tonight I am going on a night dive, which should be a little freaky (and it was). I guess more types of predator fish come out at night, I hope to see a shark (I didn’t). I have bandaged up all my cuts so I should be good.
As far as meeting those girls the other night, it was pretty calm; one of them from the US drove me up the wall more than anyone has in recent history. I mean she was just a complete bitch. If I said the red curry was hottest and green milder, she said no? Like with everything, whatever!! I even told her the stars looked different from
here than at home and she disagreed? After about an hour I started saying things to grate on her nerves, so I had my fun, as most know I can be like that, and win. However the Australian girl was very pleasant and she teaches snowboarding in the winters and travels in the summers, so I spent most of the time talking to her. She gave me some good advice on how to explain carving to beginners. So now I think I could at least explain it better than saying (just do what I'm doing).
Last night I walk up this hill to the High Bar, it's a chillin bar on top of one of the islands peaks and you get a great view. The walk up was excruciating, your nose almost touches the ground as you walk. Never have I seen a road so steep. (Never). The way down was equally as hard to negotiate. As you may have guesses the bar lived up to its name and they where smoking (tobacco) out of a bong in the VIP room upstairs, well it didn't take me long to be invited to leave the bar part and chill up
New accomidations
Paradise Bugalows - Ko Tao there. All the bong hits I could take, (which was only three as I haven't smoked since I left, hit me hard!) three beers, and a Pad Thai meal only costed me $10.00. Very cheap. I met a couple of others up there and we sat and watched Miss Thailand, it was great, none of knew what the girls were saying, so you didn't even have to try not to listen. One of the guys is taking his dive master course and was telling me about it, I guess you pay like 1,000.00 and you can dive as long as you want (like three months), you just help out the dive shop and take others out with the instructors. Sounded pretty cool to me. Then I met another guy who lives here and he takes people out deep sea fishing, he can guarantee a catch, he says it has only happened a couple of times where they didn't catch. (His name was Mark) so I don't know about all this catching business, very likely story. But he can't be all bad, and I'm going to try and get on one of their trips.
So I have decided it was
My bugalow
ParadiseBugalows too much a pain to get to Chaing Mai, (up north) in so little time left. I will probably hang around this island for a couple more days, do a couple more dives and the fishing thing. I had better catch something huge!! Too bad they wouldn't let me take a spear gun diving!! I'm going to have to change hotels though, that bed is killing me. On a side note I saw a gecko in my place last night, no big deal right, they eat bugs, however this thing was a foot long, it had run off before I got the camera out, but man I have never seen a gecko that BIG!! It could eat most, smaller Geckos. It probably poops bigger than most geckos!! Happy dreams.
We had a traditional thunder storm rip through last night, just like an Alberta one, with lightning and crazy wind, it was amazing that most tourist never seen anything like it, even these people from Vancouver where amazed. Everyone thought they were going to die!! I had a good laugh, as I was excited to see it. It came and went in about 20 minutes.
