Well, it’s been a while since our last entry. That’s because we really haven’t done too much. After Koh Samui we went to Koh Phangan. On Jan 3rd we went to a Full Moon party. It was pretty cool. The boat there was a fun experience. It was low tide, so we all had to wade out to the boat. Then for the 40 min ride we all got sprayed until we were soaked. And then when we got dropped off we all had to jump out the side and wade into shore. Other than that the ride was beautiful, it was a clear sky, and of course a full moon. The party is pretty much a huge rave on the beach. So it was a bit much for me, I don’t really like techno and big mobs of drunk flailing dancers. We went up on the hill to a place called Mellow Mountain where you could just chill out and watch everything. It ended up being a really fun night.
After the party we spent a couple of days relaxing and recovering before heading back to Koh Tao. We traveled there with some people we met on Koh Phanagan, so

This is the resort where we did our diving.
we just spent a few days hanging out with them. Also it rained for 2 days and there’s really not much to do when it’s raining. Luckily the weather cleared up in time for us to start our diving course. We went to Coral Grand Resort to do our course. (Nice recommendation Jess). It was a beautiful resort and they had really good diving facilities. Also, we had a really small class, just us two, a guy from England, and an Italian guy. Our first day was spent in the classroom, and then in the pool. We had to spend about 4 hours underwater in a pool. We got to see how clean a pool really is. The second day we did our first two open water dives. We went to Aow Leuk bay and dove 15 meters deep for about 45 min each time. We got to see a lot of coral and huge schools of fish. The second day we did our dives 3 and 4. This time we went to 2 places first Japanese Gardens, 15 meters deep. And then to White Rock which was 18 meters, the maximum we’re qualified to dive. We saw some huge

When the tide goes out all the dogs go fishing
fish, and some big and bright coral. There was a sea turtle at that site earlier that day, but we didn’t get to see it. We’re hoping that next time we dive we’ll get to see some turtles or a whale shark. So now we’re certified open water divers. There was a guy that came with us on the last day to film us. And after we finished all of us went to a bar and watched it on the big screen. It was an awesome movie, but he was charging about $80 Cad for one copy. Something we can’t afford on our travelers budget.
Once we were done the course we had to leave the resort, prices double as soon as you’re not diving. So yesterday we took the boat back to Koh Samui where we are now. We’re just stopping over here before we head over to the West coast tomorrow. Hopefully something exciting will happen so we’ll have some things to write about!!!
