Hello from Phi Phi

Hi All,

Well I have made the transfer from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi, which is a very little island off the coast of Krabi. It is so small that they do not have any cars or anything apart from bikes on the island because you can walk the whole island in an hour apparently. I can well believe that as it took us 2 minutes to get to our hotel when we got off the boat.

Yesterday while still in Krabi we went sea kayaking which was great - for someone who doesnt like the sea i really enjoyed it. We rowed for 3-4 kms in total and we went to a monkey island the guide was throwing in fruit and the monkeys were swimming out to get the fruit, at one point they were jumping in our kayaks but then they started fighting which wasnt too fun. There were some baby monkeys too which were so cute i got some good photos so i will post them on here soon.

We then went on an hour elephant trek in the afternoon and the elephants were gorgeous the one i was on was called Komkin and he was 42 (little for an elephant) we rode him for an hour your not strapped in or anything and it was very hilly at points i didnt think he was going to make it through the space between the trees. I liked feeding him too he was very friendly. But then i saw a baby one (2 yrs) chained up and some others at the back were chained up without much slack and reality of how they really live hit me - got a bit upset about it didnt like seeing that.

I am suffering badly from Sun burn i found it hard to walk today because my legs were so bad but i am plastering them with after sun and keeping covered up for now.

We are off for some dinner now.
