Fire Spinner People, very cool
We made it throught the Full Moon Party... not without some hitches. We had our first encounter with the Federalies (Local Police). During out fun times and beach going, someone took it upon themselves to steal some of our stuff. Granted it was our fault for leaving it, but we left it among what we thought was a safe and well populated area, next to some local vendors and local family with kids. We were with out stuff (Don's Teva Sandals, My sunglasses, His sunglasses, His Favorite Heavenly hat, and my baseball cap, not to mention the duffel bag that I have had for 15 years and our new blanket towel) just minutes before and decided to take another walk around at around 11pm. It was about midnight or so when we got back to our stuff. There was a lady sitting where our stuff was and she was a local and said that there were two ladies that went throught the bag and took it. She pointed to where they went, we naturally got our adrenaline pumping looking around the thousands of people for our towel and bag (which was hiding under the towel) and his shoes which sat atop

the towel.

Don went one way, I went the other. Don found our towel underneath a sleeping person. We immediately woke him up and asked where he got the towel and that it is owers. We didn't see our bag, only the towel. We looked around the people (which were behind the locals vendor area) who had my towel. These people were the family members of the vendors and also had two kids with them. The family that we originally set our things next to were also gone and the first lady who pointed them out said that the family that was there was also the family who took our stuff. Basically, the family that we thought were the safe ones to put our stuff next to (two kids, two 8 wk old puppy dogs, wholesome looking group) were the deceptive ones that snaggled our things.

To make the long crazy story a little easier to comprehend, Don went to retrieve the local police to help us and be our interpreter. The police were very nice and helpful. They helped us find out what really happened. We also filed a report for our lost goods and tried to put it behind us so that we could continue to have a good time. We kept walking around and enjoying the crazy festivities for many more hours. Around 4am, we were bummin again about our stuff, so we decided to head home. We hopped on our motorcycle and started back. We got a mile or two out when we ran over something sharp and flattened our tire. Don drove back trying to find an air pump to just get us back, I walked back and met him at the local 7-11 at the entrance to the beach. He couldn't find anything open, so we decided to sleep on the beach and take care of it in the morning.

We went to the side of the beach where it was less vacated and found a place to sleep. Since Don had found our towel, we had a blanket (eventhough it was so warm we didn't need it as covers). Sleep was little and had to find. We made it throught the night and woke to still hundreds of people partying on the beach and then the sun rise. Sun rise was beautiful and well worth the mishap. I am glad

This is how we all felt! Good FUN!
we stayed and unfortunately happy about our flat and getting to sleep on the beach.

In the am we had the tire fixed and rode back. We returned to a nap and the water being warm for a swim.

Now, if May 15 and we are waiting for our boat to Koa Tao. Leaves in 20 minutes, so I will try to add some pictures in that short amount of time. I can't write and add pics at the same time, so we will be in Koa Tao a couple of days, maybe a week. I am told the accomodations are great and the snorkeling the same. However, a little more rustic, which is more our style than the big city life. Chat with you all later, keep in touch. Jen
