Finally made it over here......after trying to get some accommodation since Singapore- my own fault for leaving it so late to try and sort out partying at the same place tonnes of other people in Thailand are heading towards...managed to find Shambala bungalows, hiked up prices but all in the name of New Years and it was pretty nice!

As couldn't get anywhere to stay on the island we stayed at Big Buddha Beach on Ko Samui which is basically a half hour ride on ferry (10min speed boat) over to the island for partying...meant there was no opportunity for going to bed at any point during the night (as ferrys didn't run again until 7.30 at earliest) but besides i've not exactly been sleeping anyways so no need for it on NYE!!

It was a pretty messy night to say the least (aside from the drinking i cut my foot open- we had a brain wave of not wearing any flip flops since we'd probably only lose them partying, and i stepped on glass or something), i think i remember most of it, although clearly i don't remember what i've forgotten 😊 certainly don't remember the naked swedish guy pole dancing which apparently i found hilarious at the time....anyways, won't go into the detail just attached some of the photos...it was a cool night and we continued into the morning, saw the sun come up and still dancing away on the tables that were still standing..(many of them collapsed under the weight- not my weight!!- combined with the tide coming in etc...etc...)

Finally headed back to Ko Samui around lunch time the next day, too tired to stay for the duration of the after party, had 2 hours sleep then up again to do some more exploring of Samui island....was a pretty tame day but think thats allowed after all that partying at my age, just went shopping in Chaweng and then treated ourselves to another really good but expensive meal out...i'm not so good at this backpacker budget stylee thing, but it was New Years Day so figured its ok to treat ourselves!

Finally got round to doing the moped thing the next day when we had slightly more energy...attempted to at least...think i was a death hazard waiting to happen so after trying my best i decided it was safer to just take the

bike back and get on the back of someone elses...Was pretty cool going around by bike and got to explore much more of the island that way and work my arm muscles as i held on for dear life! Learnt i''m really not very good at just letting go and trusting other peoples driving, but all with good reason given our narrow scrapes and the amount of people i've met you've ended up in hospital...anyways, here's some photos from New Years Eve and waterfalls/beaches etc..around Ko Samui
