Edit Blog Post
Wednesday 21st/Thursday 22nd/Friday 23rd
Well after spending ages adding my last blog i did actually go get my nose pierced! I've got a nice little stone stud in at the moment but have since bought a lovely little flower to put in in about a weeks time.
So for the rest of my 3 days off - pretty much this: bumped into Oggie in Thong Sala while we were eating pizza - if anyone ever comes to Thong Sala DO NOT go to pizza restaurant next to the night market cause it's shite..! Then we joined Oggie in the night market and James happened to be there too. Later met up with Ty and Nate for game of pool at Harveys bar.
Thursday was a lazy day - got haircut, did quite a good job too, brought us a toaster! then basically sat around, read my book and had an afternoon kip - lovely! We went to Coco for dinner then met up with Av and Cheryl (volunteer vet) at the Milky Bar Resort for a few drinks.
Friday i went for a wander around the waterfall. It was a really hot day so was nice to be under
the shady trees. Last time i came here it was raining so didn't bother hanging around but today it was lovely and i walked up to the viewpoint and wandered along the natutre trail for a while.
We decided to try out our new toaster (and look after our budget which we haven't really been sticking to lately!) and had beans on toast for our dinner. They're really good beans too - and even managed to fine a bottle of Worcestershire sauce! Lovely.
Stel wasn't quite satisfied with that though and as it was rather early we went into Thong Sala for chocolate mousse - the only problem there was they only had 1 left....good job i like apple pie and ice cream.
Saturday 24th - Full Moon
Yeaaahhh...spent most of ther day on the beach sunning ourselves and i actually got to swim in the sea today for the first time. I don't know what has took me so long either..??
We then joined Avril and Por in Haad Rin as they had pitched a table outside a restaurant to try and raise awarness for PAC - (Phangan Animal Care) Unfortunately most have to try a different
approach next time i think...
Anyway, after that we headed home and popped in to see Ty getting his tattoo done. He is having a whole 'sleeve' done so will be done in stages over 4 days, so far it looks really good but as we arrived the guy Den was just doing the under part of his arm which by all accounts was a bit sensitive - but he was a brave lad a smiled through it!.
We then arranged to go to a festival with Roj before going back to Haad Rin for full moon. The festival was Loykratong which was to give thanks to the river....we bought a floating flower arrangement with candles, said our thanks and made a wish then floated it out to sea. There were some people who brought big laterns that floated up in the sky...we saw 3 together from our balconey and Stel thought we were being invaded by aliens..!!!
Full Moon was a bit busier than the last one but not by much. We found the lads and again watched Oggie do his Poi and Nate with his staff then I spent most of the night with Roj - we
lost Stel early on but knew she wouldn't have gone too far. We then bumped into Boy so had a bit of a boogie and shared a couple of buckets with my Thai friends which was great. Later on around 4am (the time goes so quicky at full moon) i found Ty, Nate, Oggie and Duva so stayed with them for a while and somehow lost Roj and Boy...so easy to lose each other on the beach it's a nightmare...as long as i have enough taxi fare home...
After wandering off with Oggie and Duva for a while we later came across Ty and Nate again - Ty was crashed out! Silly arse was getting his tattoo covered in sand so dusted him off and sat with them for the last hour or so listening to the drum and bass music.
Finally got home about 6am...had bottle of Sangsom but for some reason i had an urge for tea and toast...??!! Went to bed at 7am then was woken up my Phong texting me at 9.50....oh my less than 3 hours sleep....
Sunday 25th November.
Luckily I had the day off from work as the clinic is always
closed after full moon...usually i would have to go in a feed the animals but Phong was happy to do by herself as there were no patients...yeaaah day off!
Not that we had the energy to do much! I had some lunch at Coco then we decided to go for little bike ride up the coast road...we stopped off at Amsterdam Bar which is at the top of a very big windy hill but when there you are rewarded with brilliant view! We made ourselves comfy on the cushions and spent rest of day there till 5pm. Ash and Ade from Coco happened to come for drink too which was lucky for Stel as she wasn't happy about having to take her bike back down the hill so Ash rode it for her.
On our way back through Thong Sala we bumped into Ty - he'd been for sitting No 2 for his tattoo...had more detail put in today and it looks great. We stayed for some food and Nate later came past too so went for game of pool with the lads before heading home to change. Everywhere is sooo quiet after full moon...all crashed out i suppose...but we're
hardcore..!!..we went back into town for a drink then decided to go look at tattoos again as Stel is trying to find one for her foot.
Monday 26th November
Poor little shitsu.... was brought in today with it's eye hanging out. The owner thinks it had a fight with a cat! Phong had hoped to save it but all the nerves were damaged so she had to cut it out.
After that we had 2 European ladies come with a puppy in the pick up that i think she had just ran over (it was her own dog too), unfortunately it was already dead though i must be toughening up a bit now as i didn't cry.
Then a dog called Tequila was brought in with a deep cut on her foot - she had to be sedated so they could clean it out then when she came around...boy she squealed! I hope the owners collect her or the neighbors at the vet will be kept awake by that one!
Just off to meet James at the night market now for dinner....write again soon.....
