long tail boat
A Thai long tail boat Start our day a bit late, around 9.30 am. Found a place for breakfast, only 50 meters from our rented apartment. I was so excited when heard the stall sell laksa, my favourite food in the whole world. Turn out it's not the real mccoy. It was basically a plump up version of
mee hoon, with yellow
laksam kuah. yeah, what do you expect when you go to another country, it’s not the same as ours, rite! thank God the tom yam version is the same, only yummier! My sis had rice porridge, which we likened to
bubur ayam McD "I’m lovin’ it", while ina & izan eat nasi biryani with a weird looking
ayam goreng. After our stomach full, still had time to transfer pic of yesterday's outing from my camera to thumb drive before someone from the tour operator pick us up to go to james bond island.
Pick up in a van, together with a couple from Germany and 40 something couple from Laos. Get acquainted with the nice Laos lady. She used to live in Paris a couple of years ago. (Hmm, should consider Paris as my next destination. Uhh, maybe no, way toooo expensive. Remember,
the James Bond pose
the 4 of us in front of James Bond Island. Yeah, I know it doesn't look like a usual island eh! & mind you, we are wet! I'm just a budget traveler). Stop somewhere along the way to Phang Nga Bay for a demo of, hear this, “rubber tapping” ha ha. Talk among ourselves whether we can skip this, as it’s too familiar. But have to remember that the mat salleh couple never saw it and look very excited when we stop. During the demo, I’m more interested with the mangosteen tree next to it. Hmm, "
sedapnye nampak manggis tu". ask the driver whether I can have one. After the demo finish, all of us are more interested with the fruit. Feel so
eksyen that I can show my skill of peeling the mangosteen's skin. Huhu!
Arrived at Phang Nga Bay, transfer to a very long tail boat, which emitted noise soooo loud. The long tail boat can accommodate 25-30 people. There, we met up with our tour group, some of them came from kata beach, karon beach, basically all around phuket. We were the last van to arrive. Feel a bit guilty, if not bcoz of the mangosteen, we won’t be late. Not even 5 minutes in the boat, we are already wet from the salt water. Later, arrive in james bond island, take a

Ina & Ikin getting wetter than us as they sit in front row of the boat. ha ha lot of pics, surely, with a james bond pose (btw, the island is called Ko Tapu in Thai, actually) Turn out, 4 of us are the last one to get back to the boat, as we were held ransom in one of the stall, asking us to buy the souvenir. Feel a bit guilty and embarrassed for making everyone wait for us. Ha ha.
Then, off to kayak trip in.......not sure where, but not really far from james bond island itself. We arrive at big floating jetty whatsoever, and transferred to our individual kayak. The weather is bright, we very much enjoy the kayak tour. Me & Ikin’s guide is very much a boy, not yet 16 I think, he kayaks us under the hong (it’s like a cave tunnel), suddenly rain started to fall. All of us, about 25 kayaks, take shelter under the hong. Having a fit laugh about one Japanese couple who open the umbrella (hey, we didn’t take umbrella during vacation, everybody knows that). Remembered an apt malay proverb, “
sediakan paying sebelum hujan”. ha ha
Rain doesn’t stop, but not so heavy, so out guide kayak us back to the floating jetty. Suddenly
Hong
Hong - the sea caves rain falls heavily again. Stuck in a big floating jetty more that 1 hour, waiting for rain to stop. Our stomach starts grumbling. Everybody in the floating jetty bought a plastic to cover themselves except us. I called them “plastic man” he he. We thought no use to cover ourselves at that time as we already soaking wet anyway.
Rain stop so we started our journey to Ko Panyee, a Muslim fishing village to have our lunch, if you can call that lunch, as it was already 4 pm. Get wetter along the way. When get there feel so happy when we see our comfort food, i.e.
nasi berlauk hooray! Very delicious too, they serve sweet & sour not-so-sure-what-fish, fried chicken drumstick (which is already cold), mixed vege, and our favourite tom yam and 1-2 other dishes that I could not remember. Yum yum! We share our table with a Middle Eastern families, which didn’t each much. Feel so happy as they eat less, they left us practically everything to eat …ha ha. Full stomach, feels so happy, but dreaded the return journey. It means, we'll be wet again, as we starting to get dry!!! Huh.
charming house
one of the house in Ko Panyee Arrive at Phang Nga Bay. On the way back to Patong, stop at reclining Buddha cave along the way. In front of the cave, got a group of monkey where we can buy a rambutan and feed them. Never like monkey much. Have a long & painful history with them. Why are there so many Michael in the world! (yeap, that’s our nickname for monkey, it’s Michael).
Reach our apartment around 7 pm. Take a bath, than go out to….yes, transfer pic again. Thank goodness that the charge to use PC is quite cheap in Phuket. (Wonder if I go to Rome, how many times a day I have to transfer my pics!). Suddenly found another branch of the same massage shop we went yesterday. Ended up having another massage, we become practically addicted! (I opt for head & shoulder massage this time, bliss!) The masseurs also the same as last night, what a small world!. After massage, feel hungry, stroll down to Laila, with everyone having a
nasi goreng something. Stuck there almost 2 hours, as rains pours down.
