Now that I look back at this photo it looks a lot like Palatine Hill in Rome.

Every male is expected to become a monk for a few years at least at some point in their lives.

They are not allowed to touch women, so I would guess the best strategy would be to become a monk before you are attracted to women.

It didn't seem like it hurt the elephants. They would just put it behind their ears to guide them.

How young is too young?

After watching this I could understand how the Romans could watch gladiator fights: just because everyone else didn't have a problem with it it was ok.

The main philosophy behind Thai cooking is having one of each category of food in each dish: sweet, salty, sour and spicy. The guy recommended we try vanilla ice cream with black pepper on top. Not quite ready for that yet.
