Its been ages since Ive written. Sorry (Dad esp!) After the farm, I headed straight to Mae Sai to the orphanage that I discovered 3 months ago. Its not going quite how I expected, though. The team of volunteers here is really hard to work with and Im feeling extremely underutilized and unappreciated. Funny, the same people were begging me to come back before and now that I get here, they're nowhere to be found! I think I'll leave here in a few days and head to a temple for another Vipassana meditation retreat. I feel a bit guilty for running from the problem, but then again this may be the last time I have that option. Its such an uphill battle, I just cant be bothered with it now. Chaing Mai to Golden TriangleJason & Kirstyn O Left Chiang Mai behind and headed north to the region known as the Golden Triangle (the Golden Triangle Encompasses several countries....a rich opium growing region well known for a history of opium smoking and production). First night we spent in Chiang Rai. Great markets and had a lovely feast on street eats. The next day we caught the local bus up to Mae Sai....a lovely little town on the border of Thailand and Myanmar. Stayed in a guest house overlooking the river and Myanmar for two nights.
