Dave and I got a 4 hr bus from Ban Phe to Bangkok. Then hopped on a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Daves cousin, Malachy picked us up at the airport with a rental car. His cousin has a motorbike which is way more practical than a car. David and I are officially "retired" and have decided to travel the world for a while. We are starting out in Thailand on Aug 16th, will be meeting up with a few of his friends there and his cousin lives in the north of the country. Then we are going to travel down into Malaysia and Singapore. Where another friend and his girlfriend will be meeting up with us for a few weeks. Then we are scheduled to jump over to Bali, which is the only place in the entire world that I must see. Enjoy that island for 10 days and fly over to Australia. the elephant we rode through the jubgle. he was a stubborn one and made his own path a few times.

at the end of the journey we gave the elephant bananas. you can see dave feeding it to him here

after riding the elephants we got to go down the river in a bamboo raft. we werent allowed to bring the camera on the raft as it could have gotten wet. in the pic they are taking th rafts apart and bringing them back up to the top of the river.

Sept 6th the last day we were in Chiang Mai and it was my bday. they sang happy birthday and had a candle in a cheesecake! it was perfect. Malachy, Pom, Wood, Dave and myself
