burmese immigration
happy friendly immigration staff???yes its true... How time flies when your having fun and now here we are in the last month of my journey and the only thing left to do now is cane it all the way to the end.But first before I could do this I had to make a visa run to allow me to stay another 30days.Actually I have no idea how or why but instead of getting a 30day extension, somehow I got a 60day extension.Had I known this maybe I would of left Chiang Mai a week or two earlier but then again maybe not.The thing about Chiang Mai is,it kicks serious ass.Sure its chilled out and finding things to do when it seems you've done it all already can be a bother but after a week or two you really become a part of this beautiful city and the people here are so welcoming and friendly.
So first off...the visa run!Got picked up from my guesthouse at 7.30 in the morning after a long night partying so trying to get some sleep was the order of the day in the air con van.Of course this is impossible when you get to chattin with the hot blond bird sittin right

looks good huh!!! beside me.Nice One!!!The journey to the Mai Sai border was a 3 1/2hr journey with one 15min stop in some rest area that sold only dehydrated fruit and an array of different flavoured cashew nuts. When we got to the border we where given an 1 1/2hrs to cross the border into Burma and cross back for our pick up.I crossed with the blonde girl and another Irish dude and we sat and ate an amazing fried rice meal,a bottle of water, complimentary soup bread and butter(the bread was already buttered and prepacked in plastic) all for the price of 120baht for the 3 of us.So cheap and it was really annoying that we had to leave straight after because it would of been cool to have a proper wander about and check out Burma more indepth. The people seemed so friendly too, maybe on my next trip I'll plan a longer stay here.Got back to Chiang Mai around 6pm and called home to wish the old man a happy 50th birthday and went out again for the night.
The following morning, myself and Damian(my friend from Bangor whos now travelling with me) had a first flight in the morning booked to bring us from

down the hatch!!! Chiang Mai to Ko Samui on the morning of the full moon party on Ko Pha Ngan. The plan was we meet up at the bar we where calling our local and get brought by tuk tuk to the airport, fly into Samui, drop our backpacks off in my mate Robins Embassy guesthouse then get the speed boat to Ko Pha Ngan for the party then head back to Samui the next morning when everything was winding down.It was all planned out perfect, all except one thing...we went out the night before and didn't get up on time to make it to the airport for our flight.Bangkok airways where really cool tho...one phone call and our flights where rescheduled for the followin week which meant another week in Chiang Mai.
Since I figured I'd done everything that could be done in Chaing Mai and now had another week to kill I booked a ticket for the Simon Cabaret Chaing Mai.For those of you that don't know what the Simon Cabaret is,and I'm sure thats quite a few of you,its the lady boy show.A massive production similar to what you would expect from a Los Vegas show but with an all star cast of Thailands

tasty!!!yum yum!!! finest men with boobs.Infact some of them really did look like fine lookin woman but some of em where a lil dodgy lookin too.So heres the funny part...I got picked on twice by two of the rather large and not very attractive she-men.Allow me to break the show down for ya.Mainly its alot of singing, some songs in Thai and some in English and very serious stuff but they have some overweight ladyboys who don't look like ladies in the slightest but still have the hormone supliment induced boobs and who go into the crowd for comedy effect and interact with the crowd.Well I was unfortunate enough to be stuck in the front row with my friend Korn from the Goodfriends Bar we all drink at and the first of my encounters and involvements in the show involved one of the heavyweight ladyboys grabbing my hands and havin me squeeze her eh man boobs.Ok Ok it was funny and good spirited so lets not crack up just yet.Yis still haven't heard about my second encounter. So after just recovering from this I was just settling down again to enjoy the show when the second man beast ladyboy somehow found her way from
Lady Boy Show
don't be fooled-shes a guy the very far side of the room to where I was sitting(i think it was a conspiracy)and took my camera from my hand and gave it to Korn and then dragged me up on stage in front of the whole place and had me perform some of my awesome dance moves(i was cuttin some serious shapes-pictures are to follow!!!).Then I was brought back stage and thanked for bein such a good sport by gettin kissed all over my face by a fat ladyboy(big lipstick smudges everywhere but not on the lips before yis start thinkin any of that shit)and then I was brought back to my seat where Korn was pissin herself laughin and she showed me the performance she caught on my camera.I'm gonna add the pics for yis to see cause it is hilarious. After the show we went to a the reggae bar we go to from time to time and then onto that damn nightclub I can't stand anymore called Spicys(this place has been over done now).
Then on Monday night myself and Damian where invited down to the Goodfriends Bar for a going away party in our honour. One of the girls 'Ae',cooked up a feast that

Big production... would feed a small nation and was on par with any 5star restaurant for presentation and taste.Absolutely fantastic, made me think about how lucky I am to have always fallin on my feet where ever I have visited, whether in Samui when I made friends with the owners of the guesthouse who looked after me during my hospital stint or when I got to Chaing Mai and was treated like family by receiving such a night to be sent off on.Pure Class!!!
Tuesday morning we did make our plane this time and flew into Samui airport/beach hut. When we got to the guesthouse Robins girlfriend Nina was there to greet us.After spending as much time as I had there before it had all the familarity of comin home.We spent 2nights here partying on Chaweng Beach and both nights involved gettin back to the guesthouse after 8am and then gettin back up again just after midday...we where pretty knackered but we decided not to waste to much time in one area so booked the boat to Ko Pha Ngan and headed to Coral Bungalows in Haad Rin where once again I had stayed before and last night we headed to Haad Rin beach where
Look at the melons on this Guy
I was forced to grab a feel of these...ahhhhh!!! the full moon partys are held each month(we where happy to later find out that last weeks full moon party was a complete washout due to heavy thunderstorms so we didn't miss much)and partyed there until a girl we had met in Samui bumped into us here in Pha Ngan and was unfortunate to have her mobile phone knicked by some ladyboys on the beach while she was chatting away with us.Shit happens, you just have to be careful sometimes and watch your belongings.
Tomorrow I think we're gonna travel up north of Ko Pha Ngan and check some other beachs out before bouncing to which ever island we choose next then on the 19th I'm heading back to Chiang Mai(cuttin out Bangkok altogether)for the rest of my trip. Not lookin forward to headin home that much but I've had a good run of things and alot of experiences to remember forever or at least until I can afford and work out gettin more time again to travel.I've still a few weeks to go so I'll keep yis posted with whatever else I can get myself into.
Laters!!!
