Enjoying Breakfast
Furama Asoke, Bangkok. Enjoying our stay in Pattaya, we were going to get a bus from Ekkamai bus station in bangkok buy after we worked out how much it would cost for a cab from Furama Asoke Hotel to Ekkamia bus station, then 113baht each for the bus fare, then a songthaew fare from Pattaya bus station to Areca Lodge Hotel, it was more convenient to get a cab from Furama Asoke straight to Areca Lodge & easier than hauling our luggage around. It cost 1500 baht for the cab from door to door. Furama let us leave 2 suitcases at their hotel till next Saturday, even though we're not going back to them as we had already booked Grand President which is close by so will pick them up on the way back. Areca Lodge is right in the centre of Pattaya straight across the road from Mike's Shopping Mall & 10 minutes stroll to Walking Street where all the nightlife action takes place. Lots of european tourists in Pattaya & the shops cater for the larger sizes & larger meals. We had a meal at Shenanigans & it was massive!!!! very tasty though. Weather is warm &
lobby
Bumrungrad Hospital mostly sunny, no sign of the storms that were starting to blow in of an evening in Bangkok. The beach area has a lot of beach umbrellas & deck chairs reminisent of UK.Went back to Simple Simon's resaurant at Jomtein beach, Soi 5 as we had such lovely meals there last year, still as great as we remembered. Then we found a '"gentlemen's bar"called lolitas in the soi almost directly across the road from Areca lodge & it was very nice & up market but drinks were very reasonable with a good range . Good music & pleasant surroundings.
