I updated my blogs last night at the internet game shop around the corner from Nitaya's. It is used exclusively by young Thai boys to play games. Really noisy and dark. The boy next to me was playing a game with music. Blow me down if I didn't hear the latest Guy Sebastian song, some JT and Blackeyed Peas.
Christine and I certainly stood out in the crowd, but at least I had music I enjoyed. It was really hard to read the keyboard in the dark and the seats were really hard, in a variety of old armchairs and moulded to little bums. I think a concrete seat would have been better. After the initial shock at having a couple of old English ladies in their midst, the kids got on with their games and ignored us.

We were trying to find flights and a hotel to Saigon. The flights were no problem but we still have to pick up the tickets at a travel agent as we have to produce our passports. Finding a hotel in Saigon has proved not to be so easy. We may just have to turn up and find somewhere to stay when we

get there. That should be interesting!

I spoke yesterday of the sellers who come down every street. This is a picture of a man selling vegetables, fish and meat outside Nitaya's. She bought the makings for our tea. At the same time a “bag lady” was in the street. Not such an unususal sight in any city now, but this lady had her mobile phone with her and it rang 3 times in the few minutes she was here.
Now that's progress!!!!!
