Soooo, I didn't quite follow through with the promise to try and update my blog more regularly and it's been two weeks since my last confession. So here goes..... I now have only one week left at the eklephant camp and so go home in less than a week. Yikes! The good news is that I have progressed a lot with riding Surichok. Inow ride on her neck every day. After years of dreaming about it, and months of talking about it, I finally made the decision to travel. In 2006 I gave up my job and set off on an adventure to South East Asia.........and I'm still here! Every volunteer has a Prakam ceremony at the start and end of their stay for protection from the Gods. The opening ceremony just involves flowers and whisky, whereas the closing ceremony has a severed pigs head and a chicken as offerings, along with the fklowers and whisky!

We have a new house dog. He was a stray that was always being beaten up by other stray dogs, so was rescued by Lam and Ao and given a haircut. His name is Can Yeung, or something that is really hard to pronounce so we renamed him!
