Just wondering down the street like they do!
We left Pattaya feeling hungover and full of cold for the 3 hour, no air-con trip to Ban Phe which is pretty much just a harbour town. Booked our ticket for 60 baht hour long ferry crossing which is under a pound and jumped aboard (oh forgot to say we were having lunch just prior to this in an open fronted restaraunt when I said to Dave "there is an elephant walking towards us") he walked right up and poked his head in too, brilliant!!! jumped aboard the boat and it was pretty packed with school kids going back to the island from their main land classes and backpackers. Arrived not really noing were to go but got a 10 minute Joe Mangle pick up to Ao Tien (Ao meaning bay). Now you couldnt really classify these roads as roads they are up and down steep hills going over boulders and sand, although we did get a free safari I guess for under a pound. Arrived and checked straight into and air conditioned bungalow which opened out onto crystal clear ocean and the whitest sand I have ever experienced, not like Kos, this stuff was like walking on warm snow! anyways

Better than my usual commute!
shorts were straight out as we were baking and straight in the sea, i mean sprinting, you could hear people who had been there a while laughing at us and probably thinking they are going to ruin our peaceful paradise! we threw a coconut seed at eachother for an hour or so, surpisingly fun! and then had some noodles and headed to the beach for a beer or too, which is known as candlelight beach, you can probably guess why! they had set these cool 10 foot by 100 foot tables out with mattress type thing you lay on and it then had a table in between for your beers, very relaxing. Got talking to the 2 girls next to us, who were pretty huge but nice enough girls, they showed us to the next beach along which was meant to be busier but wasnt all that! Spent the next few days just lazing around trying to get a tan, did manage to burn my right arm red raw and Dave had 3rd degree burns all over his chest, we dossed around at Ao Thien for 2 days then to the busier part Ao Phai for 2 nights before setting
