We arrived in Bangkok Airport and it was a lot nicer and modern than we expeected. After a wild gooose chase for about20 an hour trying to shine some light on a re-entry visa that we need, we gave up ad headed to our hotel on Koh San Road. We got a taxi from the train station that was closest to Koh San, trying not to get rippped off in the process. When checking into the hotel we bumped into Lizzy and Jess and the girls. Unfortunately they were just leaving to get the night bus to Laos. However, Emily and Amy had to stay as they were still sorting out visa's. We had a quick chat before they had to leave and we checked in.

We met up with Amy and Emily and had some street food on the famous Koh San Road. Every one was trying to sell you something (more than anywhere else). We finally found a bar and enjoyed our first Chang Beer. We bought a tower which was about 7 pints to share. We went to another bar before calling it a night. We got back to the hotel room and spoke to my parents on Skype for a good while which was nice as hadn't spoke to them in a while.

We made our way to the train station and bought our night train tickets to Chaing Mai for that night. The taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers are a nightmare trying to rip you off and take you somewhere that don't want to go, like their 'friends shops'. You would agree a price and then half way there or when you get there they would say a different price, which causes an arguement. They all do it on purpose to try and catch you out.

We met up with Amy and Emily again and went to our roof top pool. It was so hot up there that the floor and sunbeds where burning your skin. I spent the most of the time in the pool. We then went on a hunt for more malaria tablets for Laos and Cambodia. We had to settle for doxycyclin which we bought 130 tablets of! Thats just to see us through until we get back to Bangkok. After lunch and icecream and a bit of shopping we had to say goodbye to the girls for the last time. We said that we would meet up when we were all back in England. We headed for the train station which took a while as no taxi driver would take us for some reason. The train was delayed for 2 hours so waiting around on the platform we got speaking to another English couple. When we finnaly got on the train, they had cubicles of 4 beds, one bed on top of another in 2's facing each other. They were actually quite comfy and when you closed your curtain it was easy to get to sleep. M x
