hey guys hope all is good with everyone. We made it safely to Penang Island silly me was expecting a beautiful beachey Island unfortunately was another big dirty smelly city with everyone trying to sell you something. We only stayed 2 nights there that was long enough. We did a city tour it took us to the goddess of mercy its a huge bronze statue 120 meters tall was amazing (Clint is setting up a site with photos), we took the cable train up to the top of penang hill on the way up we met some Sri Lankan monks I was a bit nervous because usually with monks they wont even look at woman but these guys were very friendly chatting with me and asking heaps of question. They invited us to stay with them and they blessed us and tied cotton around our wrists very cool. We also went to all the temples the Chinese and Burmese were beautiful they have huge statues inside didn't think we would be allowed to take photos but we were. That night we met up with a Irish couple and had a few drinks luckily the next day I was not to bad but they were paying for it alot more as those Irish can drink!! We took a over night bus to Kota Baru fun that was then a very over loaded jet boat to Perhentian Island arriving early in the morning first we were staying in a shitty chalet went for a walk and found nicer cheaper chalet right on the beach, Perhentian was a beautiful tropical island but unfortunately the locals leave there rubbish everywhere its disgusting but not as bad as the city's. Finally time to relax it had crystal clear water, we didn't do much alot of lying in hammocks. We did do a snorkel tour seen 5 black tipped reef sharks the biggest being 2 meters and the hugest turtle and of course Clint grabbed onto its back and dove down with it. We stayed there for 4 nights could of easily stayed longer but must keep moving. So then we made our way back to the main land and over the boarder with no dramas thank god, caught a train which took 9 long hours to Sura Than for a night then caught the 7am bus and then ferry to Ko Phangan its famous neighbour being Ko Samui. Luckly we met up with a English couple on the train they know there way around these parts and they were coming to Ko Phangan as well so they've taken us to all the good cheap places. Which was great cause the last few days we haven't had much sleep with all the traveling. Will be here for a few more days then to Vietnam we have extended our flights for a extra 2 weeks we thought why not its so close and we're told its a great place and very cheap. Then we'll head up to Chang Mai and down to Bangkok for our flight out. Well think that's about it for now luckily we've had no major dramas yet just the usually ripping us of and charging us extra we are not so good at bartering. Anyways will keep in touch take care
Love Jamie and Clint
