Well I guess Bangkok is everything you have read and heard - busy, colourful, noisy, full of parties, "shows" of certain types etc. It is also a place occupied by calm and relaxed people and monks, who will always smile at you if you pass them by. Our hotel was located in Khaosan, the famous backpackers; street full of hostels, B&B's, pubs, restaurants, shops etc.
