After a lie-in we had breakfast and left the hostel as quickly as possible. Sammy's friend had suggested we go over to make use of the rooftop swimming pool to lounge around during the humid heat of the day, which we did. As an English teacher in Bangkok she didn't get a huge wage, but her company had found her an apartment in a building with its own restaurant, nightclub and swimming pool for £150pcm!

However, the owners were noisily renovating the gym so we headed into the Sukhomvit area and watched a film at the cinema in a shopping centre/office building before having dinner. Sammy needed to repack her bag with the stuff she had left behind and once this was done we made our way to the airport. Both of our flights had been delayed and check in was pretty quick so we had a lot of time to waste in the extensive shopping centre behind the security control. Unfortunately we didn't have much money left!

Despite the delay my flight got in on time and I was back at home, dodging the rain to reach my flat which was about 30 degrees cooler than the city

About to go our separate ways
I had left 24 hours previously.
