Having randomly met in Heathrow Sammy and I took different flights to Bangkok and arrived within a few minutes of each other. Suvarnabhumi airport is huge and I had my doubts that we'd be able to find eachother, but somehow we did and and caught a taxi into the city. We checked into our hostel near the (in)famous Khao San road and then headed out to hand Sammy’s spare stuff to her friend somewhere out across the city (and had dinner while we were there). As per the guidebook, we discovered first hand that the taxi drivers in Bangkok really didn’t know their way around their own city, even if you gave them an address written down in Thai. However, we got back without too much trouble and went to bed early to catch up on much-needed sleep after the 11 hour flight from London.
