Hi guys hope that your all well sorry that I have not written a blog for ages but it has been pretty hectic since Max got here. Was so so good to see her was so excited going to the airport in Beijing to meet her -no more solitary dinners for me!! First day in Beijing we went to the great wall which was amazing, went to a different part this time which was even more incredible and then took Maxers for her first taste of dumplings and she liked them -very impressed! We went to Forbidden city and saw Chairman Mao, again, and then went for our first night of clubbing in China's capital -was a bit nervous as not sure how rocking this would be but has such a good night! We rolled back into the hostel at about 6 am after running about Beijing central train station in a desperate hunt for food. All the Chinese were all up already queuing for train tickets and I think were slightly disgusted by the state of us!
We also had dinner with Chinese friend of a friend of mine (bit random connection but apparently he wanted to have dinner with
some westerners!) He took quite a shine to old Maxers as she tried to kiss him on then cheek when she met him -don’t think he has ever experienced such full on contact and he got quite flustered, max got a bit embarrassed and I pissed myself laughing!! Also went to Chinese acrobatics show which was amazing and they were all so young never seen 7 year olds with six packs quite like it!!
Then we were off on the sleeper train to Shanghai! The train was really nice but were were sharing a compartment with the loudest snorer ever!!! At first we thought he was taking the piss it was so loud got to the point where we were throwing pillows at him and trying to dangle my duvet down to hit him in the face so so annoying!! Shanghai was so good we were there for Chinese New Year and it was amazing best new year I have ever had! Had dinner in really nice restaurant on big roof terrace with so many fireworks -I latter got hit in the face by one but don’t worry mum was just bit of burnt cardboard as opposed to any actual
flames still slightly humiliating!! Shanghai was all a bit of a daze, met really nice people and went to the most amazing club with big roof terrace over the bund and then we headed to Hong Kong where I was at last able to throw out my coat and long johns!!!!
From Shanghai we headed to Hong Kong, was great to be able to get our flip flops out at last, we were thrilled! Other than our cupboard sized room that was about a foot wide we had a great time, weather was really good and we spent loads of time just wandering about in the sun. We were staying in Kowloon so got the ferry over to Hong Kong Island and took the tram to the top of victoria peak which was cool although at points we were going up an almost vertical slope, bit scary! Had a night out in Lai Kwai Fong one of the bar districts on Hong Kong Island. Was fun but saw a few bizarre sights- went to a russian cocktail bar which had a room completely made of ice and were handed massive fur coats to wear, lauren got served a cocktail
made entirely of different flavours of vodka and no mixer but she battled on and managed to finish it! In another bar we were treated to a phillpino band impersonating the black eyed peas which was interesting!
We left Hong Kong to fly to Bangkok in a huge state of excitement, neither of us having seen any sunshine for quite a long time! At the moment we are pretty much the palest people in the whole of Bangkok but are planning to remedy that wth some dedicated sunbathing once we get to the islands! Our three days in bangkok have been interesting...our accomdation makes our room in shanghai look like a palace and is pretty much the worst room i have ever stayed in in my whole life! but other than that we have had loads of fun, went to the biggest market in the world yesterday although we were too hot to spend too much! we had a look aound siam sq which was fun, mostly due to the presence of air conditioning, and have done lots of wandering around the khao san road and surrounding areas too. bangok is best at night, when the temperature dies down
ever so slightly and the khao san road is packed with people and stalls. Have had a couple of great nights out and have met of interesting people, including a huge group of autraians who dragged us to a Bangkok ping pong show -due to family members reading this wont go into too much detail but OH MY GOD!!! Then next day it was a 22 hour bus/boat trip to Ko Phi Phi but worth it so so beautiful. but more photos up soon when we actually have a tan!! Miss you all
Also would like to congratulate JHB on jumping 12,000 ft out a plane!!!

Hi!
Hi girls! You look as if you are having a great time. Can't wait to see some of the sunny Thailand pics. You will be glad to know it is damp and very cold here. Have a great time with Eunice and Graeme. Love you lots, Jx
