Edit Blog Post

Just thought as we are not going to get the chance to update the blog again before we head home, and we have had ample time to ponder it in Hanoi we have worked out a few things from our trip:

Duration: 49 days
Places Stayed: 22
Hostels/hotels: 29
Nights on a bus: 5
Nights in a jungle hut: 1
Nights on a boat: 1
Forms of transport used: 17 (walking (a lot), bicycle, scooter, taxi, mini bus, bus, tuk-tuk, moto taxi, speed boat, row boat, paddle boat, ferry, train, plane, pickup truck, horse and cart and an elephant!
Number of Bus rides: 19
Scooters hired: 10 + 1 push bike
Flights: 7
Approx spent: 570 pounds (on all flights) and 800 pounds (on everything from water, shopping and beds to boat trips and elephants...EVERYTHING!!!)

Thailand
Most expensive room: $18.75 in Phuket
Cheapest Room: $11.25 in Pak Chong (the leather bed place)

Cambodia
Most expensive room: $9 in Phnom Penh
Cheapest room: $4 in Kratie

Vietnam
Most expensive room: $20 in Hoi An (Vietnam, through choice not necessity)
Cheapest room: $7 on Nha Trang

Thailand 3 favourite:
- The islands and Beaches of Ko Samui
- Kanchanaburi (Tiger Temple)
- Chiang Mai (hills and local market)

Thailand 3 most annoying
- The Tuk-tuk drivers (constant hassle...which turned out to be in all countries)
- Rip of transport scams (Surat Thani to Phuket journey)
- Pak Chong in general...rubbish

Cambodia 3 favourite:
- Friendly kids
- Being on the Mekong at sunset with the dolphins
- Siem Reip, the place and the temples
- And in Sams eyes the fact the women wear pj's everyday...

Cambodia 3 most annoying/sad
- The amount of begging
- Corrupt Police
- The constant spitting and drug offerings of the dodgy locals

Vietnam 3 favourite
- Hoi An (really good atmosphere and sights/shops)
- Ho Chi Minh (great market and Cu Chi Tunnels)
- Halong Bay (from cruising on the boat)

Vietnam 3 most annoying
- Vietnamese lack of conscience/understanding of customer service...they dont bat an eyelid to ripping you off or ignoring you
- The Vietnamese men seem to be the laziest we have ever seen with no work ethic what so ever.
- Hanoi...you could probably guess we were not too fond of the place/people
.... And again the spitting here is unbelievable.

Cant really believe how fast the time has gone. It never really felt like the end would come. Has been a really good trip and we have seen so many things we wont forget. We just wish it could be for longer. Hope you have enjoyed the blog...we will see you all a little too soon for our liking!!!
