Jim Thomson's house
Lovely and cool.......Dear All
I'm a bit behind with the blog but we've been so busy in Hong Kong that I'm only just getting around to it.
As you know Dean and I landed in Bangkok a week ago. We had a really good time at the Grand Palace and the Reclining Budha. I think we surpised ourselves. In the last entry I don't think I gave enough credit to the Jim Thomson house.....the tour was a bit boring but the house is a complete oasis compared to the rest of Bangkok. It was cool and civilised.
Dean is loving the haggling......and I have to say he's very good at it. Some of the tuk tuk drivers ask for 4 times the correct fare and Dean's not having any of it....but that said we know that these drivers don't have much of a salary so we do give them a big tip (which really is nothing to us in stirling).
That night we had an interesting evening to say the least in some of Bangkok's more interesting bars....nuff said but it was so much fun. By the end of the evening we had fed a baby elephant and Dean
had ate a grasshopper.......very surreal.
We then travelled back to the hotel at great speed on a tuk tuk. Again, you feel braver with the amount of Chang Beer you drink.
We were only there for 2 nights but it was great fun.
Next stop....Hong Kong!

PPS - yes dean has no hair....and watc his beard grow in the next photos!
